Magda is a fluently bilingual English/Spanish actress who spent her early years in the Canary Islands before moving to the UK in 1995. After studying a BA Modern Languages degree she followed education within the Performing Arts, which gave her a strong conviction to pursue her artistic dreams. Since childhood she has always had a passion for the arts and a need to express herself. In her teens she became seriously involved with painting, poetry dancing & singing. Coming from an arts background she then found her true vocation in acting so followed her heart and in 1998 moved to London to train and become a professional actress.

Training:

  • The Method Studio with Andy Lucas, Mariana Hill and Giles Foreman (pupils from Stella Adler, Strasberg’s N.Y. Actors Studio and The Russian Academy)
  • Theatre Certificate at Webber Douglas
  • Sound and movement with Irene Bradshaw at The City Lit
  • Private tuition with voice coach Val Colgan (ex head of Drama at The City Lit) and Stuart Pearce (ex Master of Sound at The Globe)
  • Screen Acting with The Actors Cut (Denis Lawson & The Scottish Actors Studio), Alchemy of Acting (Andrew Higgs), Face The Space (Diana Laurie) and several on going workshops at The Actors Temple (Meisner) and The Actor’s Centre.
  • Diana Laurie Personal Coaching (Advanced Performance Development).

Credits now include a wide range of characters in drama, horror & comedy for short & feature films, stage productions, a long with TV presenting, interviewing and radio hosting. Suitable roles cover a variety from playing strong/seductive femme fatales, creatures of the dark, mad junkies, action women, suicidal alcoholics, witches, cold murderers, vampires and bitchy detectives to submissive housewives, angels, silly bimbos, dumb secretaries, innocent nuns, princesses, sweet girls and even the Virgin Mary!

Theatre productions include working on projects such as touring King Arthur, Lorca’s Yerma (then taken into film), Uncle Vania, Lysistrata, Invitation to a Beheading (“Acting of a Superior Quality”-  Theatre World Magazine review) & The Tour at the London Palladium with a fifteen hundred audience standing ovation.

Film credits include Ruth - The Riddle (Vinnie Jones, Derek Jacobi), Governess - Midsummer Dream  (Miranda Richardson, Brian Blessed), Andrea -You're in There (Nick Moran),  Ketanya -The Witches Hammer (Stephanie Beacham), Carmen - The Winter Sun Is A Lie (Best Int Dig Film Award - India 2005), Magda (Cal McAninch). Amongst many other projects she has also worked for Warner Bros (Little Polar Bear II) and RSA Films (First Choice). Magda was also awarded for Berlinale Talent Campus 2006
